STAR ONE STEP One Coat Application Primer & Sealer for Problem Areas DESCRIPTION STAR ONE STEP is a specialty coating that doubles as an effective PRIMER and SEALER for problematic pavement surfaces. It bonds tenaciously to surfaces contaminated by oil, grease, fuel, etc. as well as to polished, smooth aggregates in the pavement. The majority of seal coating failures are the result of poor bonding to these types of surfaces. STAR ONE STEP eliminates the need for extensive surface preparation. The oil and grease soaked pavements can be quickly coated with STAR ONE STEP, with minimal scraping and washing. STAR ONE STEP is especially recommended when the contamination is too extensive to be handled by the tedious and time consuming process of burning or spot priming the oil spots on the pavement surface. RECOMMENDED USES Service stations, airport fueling aprons, industrial garages and all areas with extensive and frequent oil and grease contaminations. Can be used for priming or seal coating concrete pavements as well. Will allow new asphalt installations (like patch repairs on old asphalt) to be seal coated right away without the lengthy waiting period of months for the surface oils to oxidize and dissipate. STAR ONE STEP will establish immediate bonding for subsequent seal coating. Can be used as a BLACK-OUT PAINT to obliterate old traffic markings. All the applications noted above can be followed by a regular seal coating application using a refined-coal tar based sealer, RP-355e type. The seal coating shall be applied according to manufacturers recommendations, with or without sand.

FT. per gallon METHOD OF APPLICATION Brush, roller or spray SURFACE PREPARATION & APPLICATION Scrape heavy build-up of oil and grease, wash with water and let dry. Thoroughly mix the contents in the container. Do not add any water. The product has paint like consistency and is supplied ready to use. Do not add aggregates (sand, etc.). The product will not suspend them. Apply on the surface to be primed or sealed using a suitable application method. Do not apply if rain is imminent within 8 hours or the ambient and surface temperature is below 50 F. DRYING TIME ONE hour for subsequent seal coating. EIGHT hours for opening to pedestrian traffic. TWENTY-FOUR hours for vehicular traffic. PRECAUTIONS Keep the partially-used container tightly closed. CONTAINS REFINED COAL TAR. Consult the Material Safety Data Sheet for details.
